Concept: 2 separate pipes pass air through a Dessicant wheel vertically positioned at 2 o’clock and 7 o’clock. One pipe is solar heated convected air with whirly bird. The other pipe with internal room air circulated. The Dessicant wheel turns on bearings according to the waterlogged heavier Dessicant side positioed at top. While the lower side is air heated, dried and damp warm air expelled outside. Smart controlled by Shelley Cloud wifi relays. Reducing possible need for excess electricity, motors or complexity.
Design:
Hot Air Pipe Drying Dessicant
- Vertical long Matt Black Pipe exposed to solar is heated, as a solar chimney.
- Or hot air generated by small fan heater and expelled externally, or condensed and water is drained.
- Convection sucks airflow from heated top of pipe and a Whirley bird capturing cross winds, or pipe fan.
- A narrower Matt Black pipe is fixed within the larger pipe, to suck heated air back in and circulate it back to the bottom 7 o’clock position of the vertical Dessicant wheel, to dry it out.
- Or heat derived from a sand battery and heat powered fan to dry the Dessicant wheel.
Room Air Dehumidifier Pipe
- Room air is sucked into a filter for purification.
- First a Static large particle plastic mesh
- Next a HEPA or carbon filter for mould spore removal.
- then through pipe and blown through the Dessicant wheel
- Dry air is expelled back into the room.
Dessicant wheel:
- A round wheel filled with Dessicant. On a smooth wheel bearing.
- As humid room airflow passes at the top 2 o’clock position, the Dessicant increases in water weight it absorbs.
- As warmed and often dryer airflow from outside passes at the 7 o’clock position, the Dessicant dries and decreases water weight.
- Gravity turns the wheel as it pulls the heavier water logged Dessicant from the top to the bottom. As the bottom is dried and becomes lighter, it turns to the top of the wheel.
