Log Post Greenhouse

Examples shows:

  • Side Posts sunk 1.2m, 4ft.
  • 4.5m, 15ft Centre posts sunk 1.5m, 5ft.
  • 30cm, 12″ Rebar with auger to pin together posts.
  • Roof bracing every 6m, 20ft.
  • Fence wire for roof supports every 30cm, 1ft, using a eyelet screw as a wre tightener or could use a “Dumbbell Roller” fence strainer. 

Design

Structure should allow for:

  • Tractor height greater than 2.8m at sides.
  • High cube shipping container:
    • Height greater than 2.9m at sides.
    • Wider than 2.6m inbetween poles.
    • Length >12m.
  • +50cm Eaves, (if applicable), of 40cm eaves with +10cm depth for gutters. To protect sides from heavy rains
  • Roof pitch for solar panels at 28° to be calculated at:
    • Right angle Triangle calculator
    • 1.5m higher centre over side posts offers: 2.8m width to side, pitched at 28°.
    • 1.6m higher … offers: 3m width …
    • 2.1m higher … offers: 4m width …

Dimensions: assumed on level ground.

  • Posts may be spaced long upto 6m apart. Width is determined by roof pitch and need for solar panel mounting.
  • 5.6m Centre posts sunk 1m, w/ 4.6m above ground, (pending roof pitch calc for solar panels, if needed?).
  • 4m Side posts sunk 90cm, w/ 3.1m above ground.
  • 30cm Rebar with auger to pin together posts.
  • Metal strapping to secure joints.
  • Roof bracing every 6m for plastic sheet roof.
  • Fence wire for roof supports every 30cm, using a eyelet screw as a wre tightener
